Roberta Cross, M.A., LLPC, earned her degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Siena Heights University. She has 15 years of combined experience working with Marriages, Individuals, Teens and Adolescents.
Marriage – Roberta can help you repair/strengthen your marital relationship by utilizing more effective communications; focusing on nurturing the friendship, an invaluable asset for sustaining the marital relationship; restoring trust when it is broken; and ensuring the marriage is seated on a solid foundation that can withstand the tests of time.
Marriage Betrayal – Roberta works with individuals who are experiencing the trauma of betrayal and/or abuse by integrating hope, health and healing. Roberta has many years of experience working with women and is committed to empowering women from different walks of life. Additionally, Roberta facilitates workshops, seminars and groups.
Qualifications – Roberta has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. John Gottman, the author of Gottman Method Couples Therapy has been dubbed The Einstein of Love and The Mozart of Couples Research. His approach is both empirically researched, time tested, and evidence based. Roberta incorporates the goals of Gottman Method Couples Therapy to defuse conflict, increase intimacy, respect, affection, remove barriers that can result in a sense of stagnancy, and to build a sense of empathy and understanding between partners.
Roberta also has advanced training and certificates in Conflict Resolution, Grief & Loss Therapy, Trauma Informed Care and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Approach – Roberta utilizes an eclectic approach with clients. With the realization that each client is unique, no one approach is appropriate for all. Her approach is tailored to the specific needs of her clients. The goal is for clients to know and feel that they are being heard and understood and that their best interest is always the focus. Clients can expect to receive an integration of Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral, Trauma Informed Care and Psychodynamic Therapy.
Roberta’s model of counseling incorporates a Biblical perspective for those who desire a Christian perspective.
